VISION INSURANCE BASICS

While vision insurance plans are different, they do have similarities. Most plans cover routine annual eye examinations, and have allowances and discounts for eyeglass frames, lenses for your eyeglasses, and contact lenses. Some plans may also have coverage or discounts for a contact lens fitting and evaluation.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

When a medical diagnosis or medical condition is present that affects your eyes, such as diabetes, or you have an eye disease or eye problem such as an infection, dry eyes, allergy or cataracts, we will file with your medical insurance; and the co-pays and deductibles for that insurance plan will apply.

Vision insurance does not cover these kinds of problems.

We are in-network Providers for:

VSP, Eyemed, Aetna, Davis, Humana, Spectera, Superior, Cigna, Always, MES, BC/BS of Illinois, Guardian, and more.  If you do not see your Vision Insurance listed here, please call give us a call at (773)933-0276 We will check with your insurance company to verify your out-of-network benefits.

SAVE MONEY USING YOUR FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

FSA is a benefit that allows you to put aside an amount of money for health-related expenses. Every plan is different so it’s important to get all the details from your employer. FSA covers co-payments and deductibles. Many plans cover prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses. Remember to use your annual benefits or they may not carry over to the next year.
